The cheapest web hosting you can buy in India on 16 September 2026 starts at ₹69 a month, from three different hosts: Hostinger, MilesWeb and BigRock. That headline number tells you almost nothing about what you will pay. The term you must prepay, the renewal rate, whether 18% GST sits on top, and which data centre your site lands in decide the real cost and how fast the site feels to Indian visitors. We read every plan below on the host's own India page, in rupees, on 16 September 2026. We did not run uptime or speed tests; uptime figures quoted here are the vendors' own claims, and we show what their written guarantees actually pay out.

What is the cheapest web hosting in India right now?

On the hosts' own India pages, the lowest entry prices right now are ₹69 a month at Hostinger, MilesWeb and BigRock, followed by GoDaddy at ₹89 and Bluehost at ₹199. The ranking changes once you add the prepaid term, the renewal price and GST.

Moving one plan up changes the picture. Hostinger Premium is ₹149 a month for 3 sites (renews at ₹449), MilesWeb Premium is ₹99 a month for 25 sites, BigRock Business is ₹159 a month for 5 sites (renews at ₹649), GoDaddy Economy is ₹219 a month for 1 site with a free domain, and Bluehost Business is ₹279 a month for 50 sites (renews at ₹529).

What is the true 3-year cost of budget hosting in rupees?

Over three years, Hostinger Single and MilesWeb Starter are the cheapest entry plans we could price, both under ₹3,400 before tax, while Bluehost Starter costs more than twice as much. The table multiplies the intro price by the months each host requires, then adds renewal months where the term is shorter than 36 months.

Two cautions sit behind these numbers. First, every one of them is a prepayment: you hand over three or four years of hosting on day one, so if the site closes in month six most of that money is gone once the 30-day refund window has passed. Second, the free domain bundled with most plans is free for the first year only. GoDaddy's product disclaimers add an ICANN fee of ₹19 per domain per year and state that the free domain then renews at the then-current price.

How much does cheap hosting cost in India after renewal?

Renewal is where cheap hosting stops being cheap. On the pages we read, entry plans renew at roughly 1.8 to 6 times the intro price:

• Hostinger India: Single goes from ₹69 to ₹289 a month, Premium from ₹149 to ₹449, Unlimited from ₹249 to ₹649. The Hostinger India web hosting page prints the renewal rate under each plan.
• BigRock: Standard ₹69 to ₹409, Business ₹159 to ₹649, Pro ₹199 to ₹759, Ultimate ₹249 to ₹989, as shown on the BigRock Linux hosting page.
• Bluehost India: Starter ₹199 to ₹349, Business ₹279 to ₹529, eCommerce Essentials ₹649 to ₹1,299, each on a 36-month term, according to the Bluehost India shared hosting page.
• GoDaddy India: the plan cards show a crossed-out price (₹299 for Starter, ₹599 for Economy, ₹849 for Deluxe, ₹1,099 for Ultimate) but no labelled renewal rate. The product disclaimers say introductory pricing is valid for the initial term only and that "product renewal pricing subject to change".

MilesWeb is the one to read closely. Its web hosting page headlines "Same price at renewal - Guaranteed" and its FAQ says renewal pricing stays the same as the original purchase price. Yet the comparison table on the same page lists the Premium plan at ₹99 a month offer price and ₹219 a month renewal price. The page does not reconcile the two. Before paying, ask MilesWeb support to confirm in writing which renewal figure applies to your plan and term.

Is GST included in web hosting prices in India?

Usually not. Of the five hosts we priced, three state on the page that the displayed price excludes tax, and none states that GST is included:

• MilesWeb: "Displayed prices do not include GST (18%)."
• Bluehost India: each plan is marked GST not included.
• GoDaddy India: "All prices exclude applicable taxes and fees (including ICANN fees)."
• Hostinger India and BigRock: the plan pages we read did not state whether GST is included, so check the checkout total before you pay.

In practice, add 18% to the checkout figure when you compare. On a ₹3,312 prepayment that is about ₹596 more. A GST-registered business can generally claim input tax credit on hosting bought against its GSTIN, which is worth checking with your accountant, but for an individual blogger the 18% is a real cost.

Which cheap hosting providers accept UPI payments?

MilesWeb and Hostinger India both show UPI on their pages. MilesWeb's FAQ says its plans accept credit and debit cards, UPI, net banking and international payment options, and its footer shows RuPay, UPI, Google Pay and PhonePe. Hostinger's India pricing page shows UPI, RuPay, Visa, Mastercard and PayPal icons. The BigRock, GoDaddy India and Bluehost India pages we read did not list payment methods, so confirm at checkout if you want to pay by UPI or net banking rather than card.

Which budget hosts have a data centre in India?

Three of the five let you host in India. The others did not name an Asian location on the pages we read.

Does server location affect website speed for Indian visitors?

Yes. Distance adds network latency to every request, so a site whose visitors are mostly in India should sit on an Indian or nearby Asian server. BigRock's own FAQ says the only key difference between its India and US servers is location, which impacts latency, and advises an India-based server for audiences in India or Asia-Pacific. When Hostinger opened its Mumbai data centre, its announcement dated 14 January 2022 quoted its CTO saying the same website can load up to 2x faster for visitors in India. That is a vendor claim, not our measurement, but the direction is uncontroversial. A CDN narrows the gap for static files; it does not fix a slow database round trip to a US server.

What does a 99.9% uptime guarantee actually pay out?

Very little. Every host here advertises high uptime (99.9% at Hostinger, MilesWeb, GoDaddy India; 99.99% at BigRock), but these are vendor claims, and the written compensation is small:

• Hostinger: the Hostinger hosting agreement, last updated 28 August 2026, offers a credit of 5% of your monthly hosting fee for a month in which the 99.9% guarantee is missed. The credit can only be used to buy further Hostinger products, excludes taxes, and must be claimed within 30 days. Scheduled maintenance, DDoS attacks and DNS problems are among the exclusions.
• GoDaddy India: the GoDaddy India hosting agreement, last revised 27 May 2026, uses almost identical terms: a 5% credit of the monthly fee, usable only for further purchases, with the failure "solely determined by us".
• MilesWeb: the only uptime SLA with a credit table linked from its site is the dedicated server SLA, which pays 10% of the monthly fee below 99.9% and 15% below 99%, and states that it applies only to dedicated servers. We found no credit schedule for shared hosting.
• BigRock and Bluehost India: we did not find an uptime credit schedule on the pages we read.

To put the Hostinger and GoDaddy terms in rupees: on a ₹69-a-month plan, 5% of one month is about ₹3.45 of store credit. The guarantee is a signal of intent, not insurance. If downtime would cost you real money, your protection is an external uptime monitor and a backup you control, not the SLA.

Do cheap hosting plans include daily backups?

Only some do, and one host contradicts itself. Hostinger Single and Premium list weekly backups, with daily backups starting on the ₹249 Unlimited plan. Bluehost India lists weekly website backups on all three shared plans. MilesWeb lists daily backups retained for 7 days on every plan, with on-demand backups added from Business upward. GoDaddy India's page says daily backups run automatically.

BigRock's plan cards show "Daily Backups*" on every plan, but its FAQ answer on backup policy says BigRock strongly recommends keeping your own backups, that weekly backups are available, and that you should buy the paid Xcitium add-on for automated backups and easy restores. Treat the asterisk as meaningful and keep your own copies.

Can I get a refund on cheap web hosting in India?

Yes, within 30 days at all five hosts, but the fine print differs:

• Hostinger: 30-day money-back guarantee; the hosting agreement points to a separate refund policy for what is non-refundable.
• MilesWeb: refund within 30 days of purchase.
• BigRock: 30 days on shared, reseller, self-managed VPS and business hosting, but not on 1-month purchases.
• GoDaddy India: full refund within 30 days for annual plans but only 48 hours for monthly plans.
• Bluehost India: full refund on hosting within 30 days, but refunds exclude most add-ons such as domains, and if your plan included a free domain there is a fee to keep it.

What happened to HostGator India shared hosting?

When we opened HostGator India's Linux shared hosting page on 16 September 2026, it redirected to BigRock's Linux hosting page, with a tracking parameter labelled "migration". HostGator India's homepage still loads and advertises 24x7 support and a 30-day guarantee, but the shared hosting plans it links to are now BigRock's. If you are comparing the two, you are effectively looking at one set of plans; if you are an existing HostGator India customer, check which brand your renewal invoice will come from.

Which cheap hosting should an Indian buyer pick?

• Lowest total cost with an Indian data centre: MilesWeb Starter at ₹2,484 for 36 months plus 3 free, with daily backups and UPI, provided you get its renewal price confirmed in writing.
• Lowest cost over four years: Hostinger Single at ₹3,312 for 48 months, with an India server location, but weekly backups and a ₹289 renewal.
• Several small sites on Indian servers: BigRock Business at ₹159 a month for 5 sites, if you can accept the backup caveat and a ₹649 renewal.
• Many sites and weekly backups are fine: Bluehost India Starter allows 10 sites, but costs ₹7,164 over three years and does not name an Indian data centre.

Support hours matter too. MilesWeb says support is 24/7 in English and Hindi. BigRock lists live chat "anytime" and phone sales from 9am to 8pm on an Indian toll-free number. Hostinger and GoDaddy India both advertise 24/7 support. Whichever you choose, set a calendar reminder a month before the term ends, because that is the day the price changes.
