A meta title and description checker reads the <title> tag and the meta description of a page and tells you whether they are a good length for search results. Enter a URL and this tool fetches the page, shows a desktop search-result preview, counts characters, estimates pixel width, and lists the page's Open Graph tags.
Titles of 30–60 characters are marked as a good length; shorter is marked Too short and longer Too long. Descriptions of 120–160 characters are marked good. The pixel figure is an estimate from average character width (about 7.6 px per title character and 5.6 px per description character), because Google cuts snippets by pixel width rather than by characters: roughly 600 px for a desktop title. The Open Graph section shows og:title, og:description, og:image and og:type, which control how the link looks when it is shared on social networks and in chat apps.
Limits: Google often rewrites titles and descriptions, so the preview shows what your tags say, not a guarantee of what Google will display. The check reads the HTML before JavaScript runs, one URL at a time.
