200 KB is a common ceiling for profile photos, job application attachments, college portals and website uploads. It is generous enough that most photos keep a good resolution at a quality where compression is hard to spot. This tool finds that balance for you and outputs a JPG of at most 200,000 bytes.
It searches JPG quality from 95% down to 50% at the photo's full size first. Only if the photo still doesn't fit is it scaled down, in small steps, so you keep as many pixels as possible. Each result shows the final size in KB and exact bytes, the pixel dimensions and the quality used, and batches download as one ZIP.
The output is JPG, so transparent areas in PNGs become white. If you'd rather keep transparency or don't need a fixed limit, the Image Compressor offers WebP and a quality slider instead.
