The Google Analytics 4 integration connects one GA4 property to AI Rank Lab through a read-only Google sign-in (the analytics.readonly scope). AI Rank Lab then runs reports through the Google Analytics Data API when you ask a question or open a diagnostic, never writes to the property, and charges no credits for reading it. What the connection can see, how data moves, what it costs and how to remove it.

Data flow

Google Analytics → AI Rank Lab, on request. A report runs when you ask a question, open a diagnostic or call a GA4 tool over MCP; the rows come back from the Data API and are used to build the answer. Nothing flows back into GA4.

Access level

Read-only. The Google scope requested is analytics.readonly, so AI Rank Lab can run reports but cannot change settings, events or filters.

What is read

GA4 reports through the Google Analytics Data API: the metrics and dimensions a question or diagnostic needs, for the property you selected.

AI processing

Diagnostics and chat answers are written by an AI model from the report rows. The numbers come from GA4, not from the model.

How do I connect Google Analytics 4 to AI Rank Lab?

Open Analytics in the dashboard, click Connect and sign in with a Google account that can see the property. Approve read-only access, then pick the GA4 property. No tag changes or API keys are needed.

Can AI Rank Lab change my GA4 settings?

No. The only Analytics permission requested is analytics.readonly. Spam Purger writes a regex filter for you, but you apply it in GA4 yourself.

Is there an AI tool for Google Analytics that answers questions?

Yes, that is what analytics chat does. It reads your GA4 property through the Data API, picks the metrics and dimensions your question needs, and explains the result.

Does the GA4 integration use Gemini?

The GA4 diagnostics use a Google Gemini model to write their explanations. The figures in every answer come from your GA4 reports.

Can I see traffic from ChatGPT and Perplexity in GA4?

Yes, for visits where someone clicks a link in an AI answer: GA4 usually records the source as chatgpt.com or perplexity.ai. The GA4 integration feature page shows how to report on them. AI crawler visits are different: GA4 cannot see them, and AI bot tracking covers them.

How much does it cost?

Can I use my GA4 data inside Claude?

Yes. The AI Rank Lab MCP connector exposes ga4-report, ga4-realtime and ga4-properties to Claude and other MCP clients. They read the property you connected here and cost no credits.
