A barcode generator turns a number or text into the bars a scanner reads. This one makes the seven most used linear formats: EAN-13 and EAN-8 for retail products, UPC-A for the US and Canada, ITF-14 for shipping cartons, Code 128 for any text on shipping and inventory labels, Code 39 for older industrial systems and Codabar for libraries and blood banks.
For EAN, UPC and ITF-14 it calculates the GS1 check digit for you, or verifies the one you typed and tells you the correct digit if it's wrong, so you don't print a barcode that won't scan. You set the bar width, height, quiet zone, text size and colours, and see a live preview. Each barcode downloads as a PNG (at 1× to 4× resolution for print) and as an SVG that scales to any size. Bulk mode turns a list of up to 500 values, pasted from Excel or a CSV column, into one file per value in a ZIP.
Limits: this tool draws the barcode; it doesn't issue product numbers. To sell in most retail stores you need GS1-registered numbers from your local GS1 office, and a made-up EAN or UPC can clash with another company's product. QR codes and 2D formats such as Data Matrix are not included.
