INP (Interaction to Next Paint)

DefinitionINP measures how quickly a page responds visually to clicks, taps and key presses across a visit. Good is 200 milliseconds or less.

INP replaced First Input Delay (FID) as a Core Web Vital in March 2024. Slow INP usually comes from long JavaScript tasks blocking the main thread, such as heavy third-party scripts or large framework updates on each interaction.
