In shortCore Web Vitals runs Google PageSpeed Insights on your domain's pages, on mobile and desktop, and stores performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO scores with LCP, CLS and other timings. Open SEO → Audits → Core Web Vitals, use the settings button to Scan Now or turn on a scan frequency, then open any row for the filmstrip, layout shifts and fixes. Each URL is charged once for both devices.

What it's for

Speed affects rankings and whether people stay on your page. Core Web Vitals gives you Google's own lab measurements for many pages at once, keeps every scan, and shows the trend. Use it after a redesign, a new theme or plugin, or whenever pages feel slow.

It's the only audit here with a real schedule: if you switch on Enable Tracking, scans run again at the frequency you pick, and each run is charged like a manual scan.

Before you start

  • A verified domain. Scans run on verified domains only. If the domain selected in the top bar isn't verified, the scan runs on your first verified domain instead.
  • Pages AI Rank Lab has discovered. The scan uses a list of URLs found earlier for your domain from its sitemap. Nothing in the dashboard builds that list today, so a recently added domain usually gets "No URLs found to scan" and nothing is charged. Domains whose pages were discovered earlier still scan.
  • Enough credits for the whole batch. A manual scan covers up to 50 URLs and checks up front that your balance covers all of them.

Step by step

  1. Open Core Web VitalsGo to SEO → Audits → Core Web Vitals. The header shows your balance, a settings button and Refresh.
  2. Open the settingsClick the settings (gear) button to open Core Web Vitals Settings. You'll see Enable Tracking, Scan Frequency, the last and next scan dates, and the scan button.
  3. Run a scan nowClick Scan Now. The button shows Scanning... while PageSpeed runs each page on mobile and desktop. Google limits how fast pages can be tested, so 50 pages can take several minutes.
  4. Or set a scheduleSwitch on Enable Tracking and choose Daily, Weekly, Biweekly (Every 2 weeks) or Monthly. The dialog shows the Next scan date. Each scheduled run can test up to 100 discovered URLs. If your balance can't cover all of them, that run is skipped and the next date moves on.
  5. Read the overall reportThe Overall Report tab shows average performance, LCP and CLS, plus mobile and desktop category scores side by side.
  6. Find a page in Scan HistoryOpen Scan History. Search URLs, filter by Good (90+), Needs Improvement (50-89) or Poor (<50), set a date range, and use Export All or Export Selected for a spreadsheet.
  7. Open one scanClick a row. The detail page shows category scores, the Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift and First Contentful Paint cards, timings, a filmstrip of the page loading, the elements that shifted, the network requests, screenshots, and Opportunities and Diagnostics from Lighthouse.

How to read the result

What you seeWhat it tells youUsual fix
LCP (Largest Contentful Paint)How long the main content takes to appear.Smaller hero images, faster server response, fewer render-blocking files.
CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift)How much the page jumps while loading.Set image and ad sizes, load fonts carefully.
TBT (Total Blocking Time)How long scripts block the page in the lab.Less or deferred JavaScript.
FCP, TTFB, Speed IndexFirst paint, server response and overall visual speed.Caching, a CDN, lighter pages.

Scores of 90+ are good, 50 to 89 need improvement and under 50 are poor. Fix your most visited templates first; one fix to a shared template often helps hundreds of pages.

INP isn't measured here

Google's responsiveness metric, Interaction to Next Paint (INP), needs real visitors clicking, so these lab scans don't store it. Use TBT as a rough lab stand-in, and check Search Console's Core Web Vitals report for real-user INP.

What it costs

The page labels show the wrong price, and long scans keep going

The header says "1 Page / 1 Coin" and the button says "1 coin per page", but each URL is charged for both devices, as in the cost table. A large scan can also outlast the page: it keeps running and charging on the server even if the page stops waiting or you close it. Don't click Scan Now again; wait, then click Refresh.

AI suggestions are rule-based

The AI-Powered Suggestions card on a scan costs extra, but it applies fixed thresholds to the scores rather than calling an AI model. The free Opportunities list from Lighthouse often tells you the same thing.

Check yourself

1. You click Scan Now on 50 pages and close the tab after a minute. What happens?
2. Which responsiveness metric does this tool not measure?
3. The scan says "No URLs found to scan". Why?
