In shortE-com AEO and GEO scores one product page out of 100 for how easily AI shopping answers in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude can read and recommend it. It checks AI crawler access, Product schema, specifications, page structure, FAQ and Q&A content, and ratings and reviews, then lists fixes. Open SEO → Audits → E-com AEO and GEO, paste a product URL and click Scan Now. Client-rendered stores can score low.

What it's for

When someone asks an AI assistant "what's the best cordless vacuum under 300", the answer names a few products and links a few pages. Those pages tend to be easy for a machine to read: clear product schema, real specifications, answers to common questions, and visible ratings. This tool checks a product page for exactly those things.

Use it on your best-selling product pages, on a product template before you roll it out, and on a competitor's product page to see what they do that you don't.

Before you start

  • Use a product page URL, not a category or home page. The checks are built for a single product.
  • Open it in a private window first. If the store needs a login, shows a bot challenge, or blocks unknown visitors, the scan can't read the page and the credits aren't returned. The scan identifies itself as a bot, which some stores and firewalls block even when the page opens fine for you.
  • Know how your store renders. The scan reads the HTML your server sends, without running JavaScript. If your theme builds the product details in the browser, expect a lower content score.

Step by step

  1. Open E-com AEO and GEOGo to SEO → Audits → E-com AEO and GEO. The page heading reads E-com AEO & GEO Checker and shows your balance.
  2. Scan a product pageIn Scan Product URL, paste the URL and click Scan Now. Progress steps show: Checking technical access, Validating schema markup, Analyzing semantic density, Evaluating page structure, Scoring conversational fit and Generating AI remediation.
  3. Read the result cardYou'll see the Overall GEO Score out of 100, any warning badges (Tech Fail, CSR Detected, Bots Blocked with the list of blocked crawlers), a card per engine (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude), and the five phase scores.
  4. Open the full reportClick View Full Report (it opens in a new tab). Each phase shows its issues, recommendations, the evidence found, how it was calculated and how to fix it, often with an example of good markup or copy.
  5. Share or downloadOn the full report, click Share Report to create a public link (it becomes Copy Share Link), or Download PDF. Past scans stay in Scan History on the main page.

How to read the result

PhasePointsWhat earns them
Schema30Valid Product schema with brand, offer, price, availability, return policy and ratings.
Semantic25Specific facts such as weight, dimensions and power, instead of vague marketing copy.
Structure15One H1 with the product name, then clear H2 and H3 sections like specifications and what's in the box.
Conversational20An FAQ or Q&A section that answers the questions shoppers ask, ideally with FAQPage schema.
Validation10Ratings, reviews, certifications and other third-party trust signals.
  • Fix Tech Fail first. If the page returns an error, robots.txt blocks AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot or OAI-SearchBot, or content depends on JavaScript, nothing else matters until it's solved.
  • Then schema. It's worth the most points and is often a template change that fixes every product at once.
  • Then specifications and FAQs, product by product, starting with your best sellers.

The four engine scores are estimates: the same evidence weighted differently per engine using fixed weights. They're not measurements of what each engine actually shows. To see whether AI answers really mention your products, track shopping prompts in Brand visibility.

What it costs

No refund, and client-rendered stores score low

Credits are taken before the scan starts and kept if it fails. If the store blocks the request, you may even get a completed report with a very low score and Tech Fail: that's a fetch problem, not your page. And because the scan doesn't run JavaScript, stores that build product details in the browser score low on content, even if shoppers see everything. The CSR Detected badge only appears for app-style pages (built with frameworks such as Next.js or Nuxt) whose price and description are empty in the HTML; other script-built themes score low without the badge. Server-side rendering the key product facts helps both this score and AI crawlers, which mostly don't run JavaScript either.

Fix the template, not the page

Most schema and structure problems come from the product template. Scan two or three products: if they share the same issues, fix the template once and re-scan one page to confirm.
