MCP (Model Context Protocol)

DefinitionMCP is an open protocol that lets AI assistants such as Claude call external tools and data sources. AI Rank Lab runs an MCP server so you can use its tools from an assistant.

The AI Rank Lab MCP server exposes the same tools as the public API, at the same prices except keyword research, which MCP meters like the dashboard: free reads of your own data (credits, prompts, citations, bot-tracking stats, Search Console and GA4) and paid tools such as audits, SERP lookups and AI citation checks. It authenticates with your API key and secret. Calls that take longer than about two minutes return a job ID to check later.

Don't confuse it with the MCP command center in Analytics → Search Console, which is a chat over your Search Console data inside the dashboard. See Connect the MCP server.

  • API key: An API key is the credential that lets your own scripts, the MCP server and the WordPress plugin act on your AI Rank Lab account. It comes as a key plus a secret.
  • Credits: Credits are AI Rank Lab's single currency: one balance pays for every paid action, such as audits, prompt runs, articles and API calls, while reading results you already have is free.
