API key

DefinitionAn API key is the credential that lets your own scripts, the MCP server and the WordPress plugin act on your AI Rank Lab account. It comes as a key plus a secret.

You find it under Content → Developer API → API keys, where you can also rotate it and whitelist the domains it may act on. The public API and MCP server need both the key and the secret on each request. Rotating the key means updating every place that uses it, including the WordPress plugin and the audit widget embed.

Treat the secret like a password: keep it out of front-end code and public repositories. See API keys.
