PNG to JPG turns PNG images, such as screenshots, exports from design apps and downloaded graphics, into JPG files that are smaller and accepted by almost every website, form and email client. The converter reads each PNG in your browser and encodes it as a JPG at the quality you choose.
JPG has no transparency. Where a PNG has transparent or semi-transparent pixels, the tool fills them with a background colour: white by default, black, or any colour you pick. Without that step many converters produce black backgrounds behind logos, which is the most common complaint about PNG to JPG conversions.
The quality slider decides the file size. At 90% (the default) photos look the same as the PNG and are usually far smaller. Screenshots with sharp text and flat colours compress less well as JPG and can show faint smudges around letters at lower settings, so keep the quality high for those, or keep them as PNG. Before you convert, the tool shows the expected size of your first image so you can tune the slider for free.
