This tool stamps a watermark onto the pages of a PDF: a word such as CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or COPY, or your logo as an image. You set how faint it is (opacity), its angle, its size, and whether it appears once in one of nine positions or repeats across the whole page in a tiled pattern. The preview shows the watermark on your real page as you change each setting.
Text watermarks are written as real PDF text in a standard font, so they stay sharp at any zoom. Logos can be PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG or HEIC; a PNG with a transparent background looks best, and there is an option to make the white around a logo transparent. You can watermark every page or only a range such as 2-10.
Limits: the watermark is placed on top of the page content, not behind it, so keep the opacity low (20-40%) to leave the text readable. A watermark deters copying but anyone with a PDF editor can remove it; it isn't a security feature. Text in scripts the standard PDF fonts don't cover (Hindi, Arabic, Chinese and others) is added as a sharp image instead of selectable text.
