Mention

DefinitionA mention is your brand's name appearing in the text of an AI answer, whether or not the answer links to your site.

Three things are worth recording about a mention: whether you were named at all, your position (first in a list of recommendations is very different from fifth) and the sentiment. Across many runs, the share of answers that name you becomes your mention rate.

In AI Rank Lab's Visibility overview, the mention rate is shown as AI Recommendation Rate. Mentions vary from run to run, so compare averages across repeated runs rather than single answers.
