Prompt

DefinitionIn AI Rank Lab, a prompt is a question you track, phrased the way a buyer would ask an AI assistant, such as "best CRM for small agencies".

You add prompts in AI search → Brand visibility → Prompt research, by typing them, using AI Suggest, or running prompt research. Then you run them on the engines you choose. Each run records whether your brand was mentioned, its position, the sentiment, the competitors named and the URLs cited.

Prompts run when you run them, and each engine run is charged (see How credits work). The only automatic re-check is the weekly citation tracker for prompts you opt into from Action plan after publishing. Prompt history is matched by prompt text, so rewording a prompt starts a new history.
