Share of voice
DefinitionShare of voice is your brand's mentions as a percentage of all brand mentions (yours plus your competitors') across the same set of questions and engines.
If you are mentioned 6 times and two competitors 9 and 5 times, your share of voice is 6 ÷ 20 = 30%. It puts your mention rate in context: a low mention rate can still lead a category where competitors appear even less.
Share of voice depends on which questions you run and which competitors you count, so keep both fixed when you compare periods. AI Rank Lab shows it as Market Share in AI on the Visibility overview.
