In shortShare one domain with another AI Rank Lab account from Settings → Team Access: pick the domain, their email, a role (Employee, Client or Viewer), an optional credit budget and the modules to show. They accept from the email link and switch to your domain in the domain selector. Viewers can only look. Module toggles only hide menu items, and the credit budget is not a spending cap.

When to share a domain

Sharing is for agencies and teams: a colleague who writes the content, a client who wants to see their brand visibility, a freelancer who runs audits. Each share covers one domain. The other person keeps their own account and logs in as themselves; while they have your domain selected, they work inside your data.

If you only need to send a client a result, a share may be more than you need. A progress report link or PDF shows them the numbers without giving them access to your dashboard.

Before you start

  • The domain must already be in Settings → Domains.
  • The other person needs an AI Rank Lab account with finished onboarding, using the email address you'll invite.
  • Decide the role and which modules they should see.

Invite someone

  1. Open Team AccessGo to Settings → Team Access. The Access you've granted card lists your shares. Click Invite User.
  2. Fill in the inviteEnter the Email address, choose the Domain and a Role. Set a Credit Budget if you want to set credits aside for them (see the warning below). Under Module Permissions, tick what should appear in their sidebar, or use All and None. Click Send Invite.
  3. They acceptThey receive an email with a link. It opens Domain Access Invitation, showing who invited them, the domain, the role and the modules. Signed in with the invited email, they click Accept Invitation. If they open the link while signed out, they log in, land on the dashboard and need to open the email link again.
  4. They switch to your domainIn the domain selector at the top of their dashboard, your domain now appears under a shared group. Choosing it puts them in your data; choosing one of their own domains takes them back.
  5. Edit or revokeIn your Access you've granted table, use the edit button to change role, modules or budget, or revoke to remove access. Changes apply on their next request.

What each role can do

Employee and Client behave the same today; the name is a label for you. No shared role can open your Settings, billing, credits or referrals, or change your branding.

Module toggles hide menu items, nothing more

The Module Permissions checkboxes decide which items appear in their sidebar. They are not enforced elsewhere, so a member who types a page address can still open it. Use the role to control what they can do, and share only with people you trust with that domain.

The credit budget is not a spending cap

When you send an invite with a budget, those credits leave your balance immediately and sit with the share. But when the member runs a tool on your domain, the cost is charged to your live balance, not to the budget, so the budget never runs down and doesn't stop spending. Lowering the budget or revoking the share returns the held credits. If you need a hard limit, give a Viewer role.

Tools that ignore the share

Most of the dashboard follows the shared domain. A handful of tools don't yet: they show the member their own account's data and charge their own credits, even with your domain selected.

  • SEO → Audits → Complete URL audit
  • Content → Autopilot agent
  • Content → Schema and AI files: LLMs.txt generator, FAQ schema generator and Sitemap generator
  • Content → Developer API: API playground and API keys
  • Everything under Settings, which always shows the member's own account
Errors after a share is revoked

If you revoke a share while the member still has your domain selected, their pages start failing with an access error. Ask them to pick one of their own domains in the selector.

Check yourself

1. You give a client a credit budget and the Employee role. They run several prompt runs on your domain. Whose credits pay?
2. You untick Keyword research in Module Permissions. What does that do?
3. A teammate with your domain selected runs the Complete URL audit. What happens?
