In shortThe AI Rank Lab Chrome extension audits the page you are viewing from a side panel: on-page, technical and AI-readiness checks, AI citation tests and AI-written fixes, with issues marked on the page itself. Install it from /chrome-extension, sign in with your AI Rank Lab account, open a page and run a tool. It spends your normal credit balance, shows each price before you run, and reads a page only when you run a tool.

What the extension is for

The dashboard audits pages you type in. The extension audits whatever page you are already looking at: your own page while you edit it, a competitor's article, or a page an AI engine cited. Results appear in a side panel next to the page, and many checks draw their findings on the page itself, such as missing alt text, skipped heading levels and broken links.

  • Full audit: one run of every in-browser check, with a score and a ranked fix list.
  • On-page and technical: meta tags, headings, images, links, structured data, indexability, robots and sitemap, redirects, hreflang, security headers and more.
  • AI visibility: answer readiness and citability checks on the page, plus live tests of whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity cite a site for a prompt, and Google AI Overview and AI Mode checks.
  • AI writing: rewritten titles and descriptions, alt text, FAQ blocks, structured data and summaries to paste into your CMS.
  • Competitors and reports: compare your page with saved competitor pages, and export results as PDF or CSV.

Install and sign in

  1. Add it to ChromeOpen the Chrome extension page and click Add to Chrome — it's free. It installs from the Chrome Web Store. Pin the AI Rank Lab icon to your toolbar. If the page says Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store instead, the store listing isn't live yet; create your account now and connect the extension when it is.
  2. Accept the data noticeClick the icon (or press Alt+Shift+A) to open the side panel. The first time, it shows One step before you start: the extension needs your agreement to how it handles page data before any tool can run. Click Review and continue.
  3. Sign inClick Sign in with AI Rank Lab. If you are already signed in on airanklab.com, it connects straight away; otherwise log in on the page that opens. There is no key to copy.

Run a tool

  1. Open the page you want to auditGo to the page and click the AI Rank Lab icon. If the panel says No access to this page yet, click the icon again on that tab, or choose Allow on all sites so you don't have to click each time. Even with that access, the extension reads a page only when you run a tool.
  2. Find the toolUse Find a tool (press / to search), the group chips, Pinned or Recently used. Each tool's button shows its price.
  3. Run it and read the resultClick the tool. Runs that cost a lot ask for a second click so nothing expensive happens by accident. Slower tools say Working — this can take a minute… and finish in the background. Use Show on page to see the findings marked on the page.
  4. Reopen past reportsOpen your history to see every run and what it cost. Open full screen shows a report in its own tab, where you can export it as PDF or CSV and Run again.

What it costs

The extension uses the same credit balance as the website, not a separate wallet. Prices come from AI Rank Lab's servers each time the panel loads, so they always match the cost table and the website. In-browser checks cost the least; the full scan and AI writing tools cost more; tools that also exist on the website, such as the AI citation check or the SEO, AEO and GEO audit, cost exactly what the website charges.

Re-running is often free

Run the same tool on the same unchanged page within 24 hours and you get the saved result back at no charge. If a tool fails after charging, the credits are refunded.

Gotchas

  • Nothing runs on its own. The extension never scans pages in the background. A page is read only when you click a tool.
  • Some pages can't be audited. Chrome's own pages and the Web Store are off limits, and the panel warns when a page looks private (for example, behind a login).
  • Keyword research is not in the extension. It is held back from this version. Use it on the website: Keyword research.
  • Not enough credits shows on the tool when your balance is short. Top up on the website; the panel picks up the new balance.
  • Disconnect a browser from the website under Settings → Account → Security → Connected extensions. Disconnecting signs the extension out in that browser.

Check yourself

1. Which balance do Chrome extension tools spend?
2. You allowed the extension on all sites. When does it read a page?
3. You run the same tool on the same unchanged page an hour later. What does it cost?
