In shortTo publish from AI Rank Lab to WordPress, download the AI Rank Lab plugin from Content → Publish → WordPress and webhooks, install it, paste your API key under AI Rank Lab → Settings in WordPress and click Validate, then click Connect WordPress in the dashboard. It finds the plugin, builds the webhook and tests it without creating a post. The WordPress site must be your AI Rank Lab domain or a subdomain of it.

What connecting WordPress gives you

Once connected, every article in the AI content writer can be sent to your WordPress site with Publish Now or Schedule. The plugin creates the post (or updates it if you publish the same article again), downloads the images into your media library, sets the featured image, assigns categories and tags, and fills in Yoast or All in One SEO meta. It returns the live post URL, which AI Rank Lab saves for citation tracking. Publishing is free.

Before you start

  • Admin access to the WordPress site, so you can upload a plugin.
  • The site added as a domain in AI Rank Lab, using the domain selector at the top of the dashboard. The plugin links itself to one of your domains. A subdomain counts: blog.example.com matches example.com.
  • Your API key, shown on the WordPress and webhooks page. You don't need to create one.

Connect in three steps

  1. Download and install the pluginOpen Content → Publish → WordPress and webhooks. In the Publish to WordPress card click Download Plugin (.zip). In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload airanklab.zip and activate it.
  2. Validate your API key in WordPressCopy the key from step 2 of the setup guide (click the eye icon to show it, or Copy). In WordPress open AI Rank Lab → Settings, paste it into API Key, click Validate, then Save Settings. Validating stores the Domain ID that matches your site.
  3. Connect the site in the dashboardBack in AI Rank Lab, click Connect WordPress (or Connect Site). In the dialog pick your Domain. Add a WordPress site URL only for www, subfolder or non-standard installs. Click Check plugin to see what was found, choose a Post status (Published (live immediately), Draft (review in WordPress) or Pending review) and optional Categories, then click Connect WordPress.
  4. Read the test resultConnecting runs Test Connection straight away. A pass says WordPress accepted your API key, domain ID and domain, and lists the checks: Plugin endpoint reachable, API key accepted, Domain ID matches, Domain matches. No post is created.
Start with Draft

Pick Draft (review in WordPress) as the post status for your first few articles. You can read each one in WordPress before it goes live, then reconnect with Published once you trust the output.

How to read the webhook card

Each connected site appears as a card with a WordPress badge, Active or Inactive, the endpoint URL, and counts of total, successful and failed publishes. The buttons are Test Connection, Reconnect (re-detects the plugin and rebuilds the webhook), edit and delete.

  • Added automatically when the plugin validated your API key. Clicking Validate in WordPress already creates a webhook with a guessed address. Run Test Connection to confirm it, or Reconnect if WordPress lives at www, in a subfolder or on http.
  • Set up by hand. A webhook built manually for this plugin. Click Reconnect so it matches what the plugin expects.

Gotchas

The site must belong to the domain you pick

If WordPress reports a different host, connecting fails with "This WordPress site is ..., which does not belong to ...". Pick the matching domain, or add that host as a domain first. A subdomain of your domain is fine.

Redirects break the connection

Publishing does not follow redirects: a redirected request arrives at WordPress as the wrong method and fails. If the test says The endpoint redirects, reconnect with the site's final address, including https and www if your site uses them.

The test saysFix
Plugin not found / plugin is not activeInstall and activate airanklab.zip, then Check plugin again
Site not reachable, or REST API could not be foundA security plugin or firewall is blocking it. Allow /wp-json/airanklab/v1/, or click Save anyway and test afterwards
Could not validate your API keyPaste the current key from the Webhooks page into AI Rank Lab → Settings and click Validate
Linked to a different AI Rank Lab domainClick Validate again in WordPress, then Reconnect with the matching domain
Domain does not match the WordPress site addressClick Reconnect

Every test adds an error row to Webhook Debug Logs in WordPress saying required fields are missing. That is expected: the test sends an empty article on purpose so nothing is created. More on this in Test publishing and Theme Memory.

Check yourself

1. Your AI Rank Lab domain is example.com. Which WordPress site can you connect to it?
2. The test says the endpoint redirects. What should you do?
3. After Validate in WordPress, a webhook card already appears with an "Added automatically" note. What next?
