Write your first article
From topic or brief to a streamed, scored article.
In shortThe AI content writer drafts an article grounded in the pages AI engines already cite for a prompt you track. Start from a topic brief in Action plan (best grounding) or type a topic on Content → Write → AI content writer. You confirm the price, then watch the article stream in phase by phase. The job runs on the server, so you can close the tab, and a cancelled or failed run is refunded.
What the writer is for
Most AI writers start from a keyword and produce a generic article. This one starts from the evidence: the URLs that ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity cited when you ran a prompt in Brand visibility. It reads those pages, works out why they get cited (format, structure, facts, gaps), and writes an original article around the same information need. When it finishes, it scores the draft for citation potential, AI citation readiness and on-page SEO.
Use it when you are losing a prompt and want a page that answers it better than the pages that win today. It is not a bulk blog generator: each article costs credits and works best when there is real citation history behind it.
Before you start
- A domain added to your account. The writer uses it for your Brand profile and internal links.
- At least one prompt you have run in Brand visibility, so there are cited URLs to learn from. See Run prompts across AI engines.
- Enough credits for the article. The confirm dialog shows the price and your balance before anything is charged.
Two ways in
| Brief from Action plan | Typed topic | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | AI search → Brand visibility → Action plan | Content → Write → AI content writer |
| Grounding | Every page cited for that one prompt, read and analysed, plus a full brief | Cited URLs taken from your most recent prompt runs, whatever their topic |
| Extra cost | Action plan research, plus live engine runs if the prompt's history is stale | None before the article |
| Weekly citation tracking after publish | Yes, you can opt in | No: there is no Action plan to attach it to |
| Best for | Winning a specific prompt | A quick draft on a topic you already know |
When you type a topic without a prompt, the writer borrows up to six cited URLs from your latest prompt runs. Those runs may be about something else entirely, and if you have never run a prompt there are no sources at all. For an article meant to win a prompt, start from Action plan.
Write from an Action plan brief (recommended)
- Open Action plan and pick a promptGo to AI search → Brand visibility → Action plan and select a prompt from All prompts. If you have no prompts yet, the page sends you to add tracked prompts first.
- Generate the planClick Generate Action Plan. The confirm dialog shows the research price and, when the prompt's run history is stale, the live engine runs it will add. The research runs in the background; the plan shows Researching… and then Ready.
- Choose a topic briefTopics are Ranked by predicted LLM Citation Potential — a prediction, not a guarantee. Open a brief to read the information need, gaps and questions it must answer, then click Generate Article on the one you want.
- Confirm the article priceThe studio opens and shows Generate citation-optimised article with the article price and your balance. Confirm to start. Cancel and nothing is charged.
Write from a typed topic
- Open the writerGo to Content → Write → AI content writer. Under What article do you want to create? type your topic and click Write Article. Clicking one of the Popular Topics & Ideas chips starts straight away with that topic.
- Confirm the priceThe studio opens and asks you to confirm the article price, exactly as in the brief flow.
The Write for a tracked prompt cards on the same page link to your ready Action plans. They are the fastest route to a properly grounded article without leaving the writer.
Watch it write
Progress streams live. A phase bar walks through Reading Cited Sources, Why They Get Cited, Brand & Citation Factors, Outline From Brief, Planning Links & Mentions, Writing Original Article, Title, Slug & Meta, Scoring Citation Potential and Finalizing. The Live Content Studio pane shows the text as it is written, with a word count and an Auto-scroll toggle.
- Closing the tab is safe. The page says Background process active • Safe to close tab anytime. Reopen the article and it reconnects to the running job.
- Stop / Cancel stops the job and refunds the article credits.
- If the job fails, the credits are refunded and a Try Again button appears.
- Before you start, you can add up to five competitor URLs under Add Competitor URL for Inspiration to include in the research.
What you get
When it finishes, the studio becomes an editor. Above it, a row reads Researched from N cited sources with each source as a chip. Beside it sit three panels: Brand (who the article is written for), Links & brand mentions (where links and mentions went) and Citation & SEO scores. Below the editor are FAQs, editable SEO and AEO metadata, and the publish panel. The next lessons cover each one.
There is also an older full wizard at /dashboard/seo-writer. It is not in the sidebar, but a few buttons in Brand visibility still open it. This course teaches the current studio.
